Exercise classes

Movement the Clean Well-Being way

My exercise classes are friendly and inclusive with a focus on long-term, gradual improvements. I believe in treating your body kindly and with respect - that way, you will see the most sustainable results. When you are new to class, I will ask you to complete a short questionnaire to ensure you are fit to exercise, and so I can support you as much as possible.

Exercise classes

Pilates
Pilates enhances core strength, flexibility, and posture. It can reduce back pain, improve balance, and boost overall body awareness. This low-impact exercise also helps prevent injury and support rehabilitation, making it suitable for all ages and fitness levels. I teach this class on Mondays at 10am at Caversham Hall.

Circuits
This is a full-body workout: the class is based on the seven primal movements of the body: push, pull, hinge, squat, lunge, rotate and gait, so each session will cover all of these functional movements. There are some equipment-based and some body-weight movement; all equipment is provided. Please bring water and wear suitable exercise clothes and shoes (you can go barefoot if you prefer). I teach this class on Thursdays at 7pm at Caversham Hall.

Exercise videos - on-demand

I've created some on-demand videos that are free to use. Make sure you are warmed up before doing them.

Relaxation and rest

As important as it is to move and exercise, it is equally vital to rest and relax.

Many people find this difficult (and I'm one of them!) so I've created some free downloads to help.
  • Relaxing body scan audio download to help you release bodily tension
  • Bedtime stretches video to help you relax and fall asleep more easily
  • My top five tips for resting to help you change priorities and dedicate time to relax

Sign up to get your free pack, and let me know how you get on with them and if you would like anything different.

Try these stretches below to help release tension in your body. You can do them as a sequence until you feel some relief.

Exercise Therapy and Tune-Ups

If you'd like individual support or perhaps more intensive training, I also offer 1:1 sessions, exercise therapy and tune-ups.
  • What is a tune-up?
A tune-up is a one-off session for 45 minutes where you come to me with a specific request or a list of things you want to improve, and I suggest ways to help. It is more informal than Exercise Therapy, and there is no homework involved!
  • What is exercise therapy?
It’s a simple, effective way of helping your body recover from injury and prevent it happening in the future. I give you a plan of physical activities designed and prescribed to help you as an individual (your homework). You work towards restoring normal musculoskeletal function or reducing pain above and below the site of injury.
  • How is exercise therapeutic?
The first objective of therapeutic exercise is to help the body reduce pain and inflammation. Once we achieve this, the exercise programme focuses on regaining range of motion and rebuilding muscle strength and endurance. It’s usually a slow and steady process and takes patience and understanding of your body’s needs.
  • What does it help?
So many things! A whole range of injuries including back pain, RSI, knee and hip pain, plantar fasciitis, bursitis, rotator cuff strain, syndromes, strains and overuse injuries.
  • Is it suitable for me?
Yes: your exercise programme aims to deliver the best possible outcomes and effective long-term solutions just for you. We start with a six-week programme, and extend this if necessary. If you're not sure whether a class will be right for you, or aren't sure which one to choose, just get in touch.

Contact me by email at [email protected] for more information.
You are amazingly inventive in making every class such a mixture of old favourites and new moves.
I really enjoy your classes and your explanations as to why we do what we do for specific muscles.
